Nepal is the brainchild of Advocate Manoj Kumar Kandel.
Born in the remote village of eastern Nepal Ramechapp
district he dreamt of giving people their legal rights
at a very young age and decided to study law and set
out for his goal when he came to Kathmandu, for the
first time to give his class 10 board exams. He got
his degree of law from the Nepal Law college, Kathmandu
in the year 1993 and Masters in Political Science.
Today,
besides practicing as a lawyer he is involved in various
social work activities and development work. He was
the chairman of the World Information Bank of Nepal,
first of its kind in the country. He introduced the
idea of information database of Nepal. He is the Chairman
of Shailung Development Committee and the Academic Study
Forum of Nepal. He is also the publisher and editor
of Nava Akash nepali monthly magazine and Bar member
of Appeal Court of Patan, Nepal.
Lack
of easily available legal information of Nepal in a
jet age of information technology was a set back which
needed instant development. Having sensed the need for
it Mr. Kandel launched lawyersnepal.com to be a platform
for lawyers as well as commoners of the country and
aimed to develop it as a legal window to the international
viewers.
